The role
The Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the enterprise data platform that supports digital products, business intelligence, analytics, and operational reporting across European markets.
This role focuses on developing scalable data pipelines, building high-quality data models, and enabling reliable, self-service access to business data. The Data Engineer works closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, secure, and accessible.
This is what you will do:
Data Platform Engineering
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ELT/ETL pipelines that ingest data from enterprise systems, APIs, databases, and third-party platforms.
Build reliable and reusable data models that support operational reporting, business intelligence, and analytics.
Ensure data quality, consistency, integrity, and availability across all data platforms.
Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, scalability, and reliability.
Data Integration
Integrate data across enterprise applications including CRM, ERP, Dealer Management Systems (DMS), Finance, Logistics, and Digital Commerce platforms.
Develop APIs and data interfaces where required to support business applications and reporting.
Support data migration and system integration initiatives for new projects and market rollouts.
Business Intelligence
Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
Deliver business-ready datasets for BI platforms such as Power BI.
Support dashboard development by designing efficient data models and semantic layers.
Enable self-service analytics through standardized and documented datasets.
Data Governance & Compliance
Implement best practices for data governance, metadata management, and data quality.
Ensure data processing complies with GDPR and internal security policies.
Support data privacy processes including data retention, deletion requests, and governance activities.
Collaborate with Legal and Information Security teams on compliance initiatives.
Operational Support
Provide technical support for data-related issues across business applications.
Perform SQL analysis and ad-hoc data extraction when required.
Investigate data discrepancies and work with software engineering teams to resolve root causes.
Support production environments by monitoring data pipelines and resolving incidents.
Collaboration
Work closely with Digital Product Managers, Business Analysts, Software Engineers, BI Developers, and HQ data teams.
Participate in digital transformation initiatives across multiple business domains.
Promote engineering best practices, documentation standards, and reusable data assets.
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:
Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, Analytics Engineer, or Business Intelligence Engineer.
Experience designing and maintaining enterprise-scale data platforms.
Experience working with structured and semi-structured data from multiple systems.
Experience supporting business reporting and analytics in an enterprise environment.
Technical Skills
Advanced SQL.
Python for data engineering and automation.
Experience with ETL/ELT frameworks.
Experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, etc.).
Understanding of dimensional modeling and data warehouse design.
Experience with Power BI or equivalent BI platforms.
Experience integrating REST APIs and enterprise systems.
Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Microsoft Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Fabric, etc.).
Experience with Power Platform.
Experience with GDPR, OneTrust, or enterprise data governance.
Experience in the automotive, retail, e-commerce, or manufacturing industry.
Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Self-driven with strong ownership and attention to detail.
Fluent in English.
