The role
As an AP Lead, you will take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable function, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing while leading and developing the AP team. You will play a key role in strengthening internal controls, improving the driving process, and supporting scalable operations within a fast-paced environment.

This role requires 6–10 years of relevant experience, including team leadership, ideally within startup and OEM environments. We value strong ethics, ownership, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic organization that keeps pace with the company’s growth.

This is what you will do:

Operations & Process Ownership:

• Oversee daily AP operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations.

• Review and approve invoice postings, payment runs, and vendor account reconciliations.

• Ensure proper 3-way matching (PO, GR, Invoice) and resolve complex discrepancies.

• Own period-end AP closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.

Team Leadership:

• Lead, coach, and develop the AP team, ensuring high performance and continuous skill development.

• Allocate workloads, set priorities, and ensure adherence to deadlines (month-end, year-end).

• Act as escalation point for internal stakeholders and suppliers.

Controls, Compliance & Risk Management:

• Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and regulatory requirements (including VAT).

• Strengthen and maintain robust AP processes and audit readiness.

• Lead internal and external audit interactions related to AP.

Process Improvement & Transformation:

• Identify inefficiencies and drive automation, standardization, and digitalization initiatives.

• Improve end-to-end P2P processes in collaboration with procurement, finance, and business teams.

• Contribute to ERP enhancements, system implementations, or migrations.

Stakeholder Management:

• Build strong relationships with key stakeholders (Procurement, Finance, Treasury, Operations).

• Manage supplier relationships at a strategic level, including dispute resolution.

• Provide insights and reporting on AP performance (aging, KPIs, cashflow impact).

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 6–10 years of experience in Accounts Payable or transactional finance, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• Strong knowledge of AP processes, P2P cycle, and accounting principles.

• Proven experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics) and advanced Excel skills.

• Solid understanding of VAT and local statutory requirements.

• Demonstrated experience in process improvement, automation, or transformation initiatives.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

• High level of ownership, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Fluent in English; additional languages are an advantage.
