This is what you will do:

• Lead and oversee local statutory and accounting compliance for the local entity, including identification, escalation, and reporting of implementation issues and business risks.

• Manage and develop the accounting team, ensuring proper training, guidance, and performance oversight.

• Support the Head of Accounting in managing financial matters to ensure effective stewardship of financial resources in accordance with Group policies and procedures.

• Manage day-to-day accounting and general ledger operations, ensuring accurate recording of transactions and timely resolution of accounting issues.

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including preparation and review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting schedules, to ensure timely and accurate financial close in compliance with company policies, local GAAP, and IFRS.

• Support the development, enhancement, and effective use of financial and accounting systems, including process improvements and system controls.

• Supervise daily accounting activities, proactively identify issues, and drive resolution to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.

• Act as the primary finance contact for annual Group and statutory audits, including coordination of audit schedules, preparation of audit documentation, and resolution of audit queries.

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Group finance, auditors, regulators, and government authorities) on accounting, reporting, and compliance matters.

• Perform ad-hoc finance and accounting assignments as required by management.
  

To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.

• Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within a multinational company; Big 4 experience is an advantage.

• Strong knowledge of local accounting standards and IFRS.

• Proficiency in English; Mandarin/Dutch is an advantage.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

• Automotive industry experience is preferred.

• SAP experience is preferred.

• Strong numerical aptitude with demonstrated ability to identify, analyse, and resolve accounting issues.

• High level of accuracy, strong sense of responsibility, effective communication skills, results-oriented mindset, and solid analytical and summarisation capabilities.
