IT Infrastructure & Service Lead

The role
We’re looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure & Service Lead to take charge of our cloud environment and IT services. In this dynamic role, you’ll ensure our IT systems run smoothly, securely, and cost-effectively, all while delivering outstanding support to our users and stakeholders.
This is what you will do:
1. Cloud Infrastructure Management
- Monitor & Maintain: Ensure our Azure/MSS cloud infrastructure operates at peak performance.
- Deploy & Configure: Set up and manage virtual machines, containers, storage solutions, databases, and networking components.
2. IT Service Management
- Help Desk Leadership: Oversee our IT help desk to guarantee timely and effective resolution of user issues and service requests.
- Service Delivery: Manage incident responses, problem resolution, and routine service requests to maintain high customer satisfaction.
3. Supplier & Vendor Management
- Relationship Building: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with IT suppliers and vendors.
- Contract & Procurement: Negotiate contracts and manage procurement to ensure we receive cost-effective, high-quality IT solutions.
- Performance Evaluation: Regularly assess supplier performance against service level agreements (SLAs).
4. Technical Troubleshooting & Performance Optimization
- Issue Resolution: Quickly identify and resolve technical issues, including downtime, software glitches, and security breaches.
- System Tuning: Optimize system performance by addressing slow services, network congestion, and other performance bottlenecks.
5. Security, Compliance & Disaster Recovery
- Policy Implementation: Develop and enforce security policies to protect our cloud infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Compliance: Ensure all systems meet industry standards and best practices.
- Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery systems to safeguard critical data.
6. Software & Service Maintenance
- Upgrades & Patches: Keep all cloud software and services updated, ensuring systems are patched against vulnerabilities.
- Regular Maintenance: Schedule and perform necessary upgrades and maintenance to ensure continuous smooth operation.
7. Capacity Planning & Cost Optimization
- Future-Proofing: Plan for future IT infrastructure needs to support our growth and expansion.
- Cost Management: Monitor cloud resource usage and implement strategies to optimize costs and maximize ROI.
8. Documentation & Process Automation
- Maintain Records: Create and update comprehensive documentation covering configurations, network diagrams, security policies, and cost reports.
- Automate Processes: Develop and manage automated workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual tasks.
To be successful in the role you will demonstrate:
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 5+ years of experience as a System Engineer, IT Specialist, or in a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS cloud services.
Technical Skills:
- Knowledge of cloud services (virtual machines, containers, storage, etc.).
- Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Experience with agile practices, performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization.
- Understanding of backup/disaster recovery systems and cybersecurity best practices.
- Ability to implement automated processes.

- A proactive, self-starter who can handle multiple tasks.
